
The Rule of Commitment and Consistency – definition
If I have committed to something, I will continue that action because I want to be perceived as a consistent person.
Examples in Marketing and Advertising:
- Various promotions: Free satellite TV subscription for a month, test a smartphone for a week, etc.
- Free product samples: If I have used product X for some time, I will continue to use it.
- Free test ride in a new car model.
- Open days: If I have visited once, I will come again.
